Little stinker!

We went to Bridge City this past weekend for Christmas and we had to make a stop to nurse/change diaper/bathroom breaks...well I got in the back seat and unbuckled Hudson, turned to do something and turned back to a very inquisitive lil' man...

Can you tell we liked to sleep on our back?!?!

You can't help but smile at that sweet lil' face!

We have teeth!!!

We have tried and tried to get a good picture of them but we have our first tooth! The first one finally cut through tonight, did the spoon test to hear it, and a very fussy baby! I'm hoping the second one comes in soon, I don't know how long we can take of this fussiness!!

I sit up like a BIG BOY mommy!

Where has the time gone?!!? He's starting to sit better and better...still leans forward a little bit but getting better each and every day!

Santa's Wonderland

YAY Hudson got to experience Santa's Wonderland! We had lots of fun, it was law enforcement appreciation night so there were a lot of other officers and their kids there.

Our official first Santa picture

"Here Santa, let me have a tug"

I don't know how two parents with brown eyes can produce a child with beautiful blue eyes!

He's just so stinkin' cute!!

We enjoyed the hay ride, too bad Santa's Wonderland is backwards in the background

Sweet moments like this just melt my heart!

And we were just about done...he was sooo sleepy

It was a fun night, poor Hudson was so tired though, he was asleep before we even made it back to the car and I barely had to feed him and he slept all night long! YAY for my big boy!

I fought my toy...

And my toy won...check out my "black eye" (his right eye)

Still just the happiest baby ever...now when he hit his eye he was not a happy camper...in fact he SCREAMED!!!

Christmas Parade downtown

Downtown Bryan had a Christmas Parade of their own, it was kinda ghetto...yes ghetto...the majority of the parade was the "lowriders club" of the area, but really all it was were kids needing a reason to ride down the street with their radios blaring! Ugh...don't get me started...and I came from the "ghetto school" as my husband loves to remind me :)

It was cold...we were bundled up!

Me and daddy!

Daddy hardly gets to see Hudson in the mornings...he wakes up for a 6am feeding and daddy is usually either already gone for work or still sleeping. So...Daddy came home to visit me this morning!!

Wednesday, December 7, 2011

Oh my goodness...

So Hudson can scoot himself all the way to the edge of his crib, gets his legs through the rails and then falls asleep just like so...

That's the monitor on the edge of the crib...obviously I woke up and he wasn't on the camera and I freaked out...now I know why!

My poor baby :(

Yea we had our first ear infection. It started as a runny nose and bad cough after Thanksgiving (which was diagnosed at bronchitis), had breathing treatments for that, but then it developed into an ear infection within a few days. So this is our sweet angel, it's kinda dark but you get the idea...he wasn't a fan of the breathing treatments but he toughed them out!

We've not been on the breathing treatments and antibiotics for about a week, he is starting to get a little better, so hopefully he will back to his smiling self in no time!!

5 months old

My oh my, it's been another month! I just can't believe that time is passing by so quickly...he really is growing up so fast!!

YAY for another month! This month has been tough on us, you got bronchitis and your first ear infection all together here after Thanksgiving. So...you're growing, a whopping 17.5 lbs and still 25 inches long. We are wearing size 3 diapers...just started, and wearing anything from 3 months to 9 months clothing. You are growing just perfectly!!! You are still nursing and taking 2 bottles, 6 ounces each, a day; I think we get to start some solid foods next month so yay for that! You are still sleeping all through the night, although this pesky cough has made it tough here at the end. You no longer need to be swaddled to bed time or naps, we cover you a little but you tend to pull the covers over you head. You are officially a belly sleeper! You started rolling over earlier this month and now you roll all over the place. You prefer to sleep on your belly, it's a little tough to see but Mommy and daddy are so thankful for our video monitor because you move all over your crib. You have started scooting backwards in your crib, all the way to the end, and stick your legs through and then fall asleep there. You are so much fun, you are a very happy baby boy these days! You are starting to grab for toys more and more, grabbing and everyone's faces too. You learned how to "bounce" in a bouncer at your Nana and Poppy's house and now you won't stop, you even do it in your sleep! Grandma and Grandpa got a stroller for them and you love for Grandpa to take you for strolls, even though it is only through the house you still enjoy it! You are starting to drool A LOT and gnaw on just about anything you can get your hands on but we don't feel any teeth just yet. Your mouth and your toes are permanently attached these days! You just love to chew on your toes!!! We went for a quick visit to see your Nana and Poppy the weekend before Thanksgiving and got to visit with Granny, your great-grandmother. For your first Thanksgiving we went to Grandma and Grandpa's and had lunch. We were going to take you to your first Aggie Gameday tailgate but you weren't feeling well. The very next day we had to go to the doctor and began breathing treatments for bronchitis. We spent the weekend all bundled up while daddy worked! You don't like your car seat too much, it's very difficult to go out to eat now because you don't like to sit in it for long, but you haven't quite mastered sitting up on your own just yet so we can't put you in a high chair. Soon though...very soon. Your hair...oh your hair, it's getting soooooo long on one side and thinning out on the other. It's actually pretty cute. You can entertain yourself for hours in your Baby Einstein Entertainer...oh how you love to spin yourself around and play in it. You still will play on your playmat that we got you, but you roll so much that you don't stay on it for long before we find you somewhere else in the living room. You have been a little finicky these days about naps, you're not wanting to take your long naps anymore, you just like to take 30 minute naps here or there - sometimes. Most days you just go and go and go and then crash at the end of the day.

Oh my sweet baby boy, each and every month you give me more joy than the last. This year I was especially thankful for what all you have brought to our lives and we can't wait to have our first Christmas together.

Happy 5 months Chunky Monkey!

Who's the cutest turkey?!?

My lil' chunky one!!

Hope everyone had a Happy Turkey Day! I'm sure thankful for all that God has blessed me with this year!

Yep it has happened...

My baby boy is growing up, he's rolling over consistently now, so much so that we are now a belly sleeper! I was incredibly scared the first night, probably checked up on him at least a dozen times over the course of the night, but in the end he was just fine...actually slept BETTER! So...here's my belly sleeper...can I rewind and get that lil' 7 pound baby boy I brought home almost 5 months ago?!?!

And before anyone freaks out...we have since taken all blankets out of the crib - it amazes me how he can still just crash on what appears to be the most uncomfortable mattress ever!

So worth it!

This sure makes all the hard work worth it...

Such a sweet face in the morning!

Having a heart-to-heart before bed :)

He just melts my heart when he smiles like this at his daddy!!!

Friday, November 11, 2011

Well this sure changes things up!

Our sweet baby boy is now rolling over! It's so funny to watch him and how easy it is to him now. The only problem is he does it in his sleep then wakes himself up because he can't get back...makes for a restless mommy....obviously (please note time).

Daylight savings time

So apparently Hudson was not taught about the importance of Daylight Savings time ending this morning and mommy and daddy getting to have an extra hour of sleep...

It is pretty hard to stay mad at such a cutie though!

Enjoying some mommy/Hudson cuddle time this morning and loving every minute of it!! :)

I do love these two!!

Jason and Hudson have a heart-to-heart :)

There's nothing more sexy breathtaking than watching this happen!!!

Our first Halloween!!

We had our first Halloween as a F-A-M-I-L-Y!!! My lil' chunky monkey was the cutest lil' Superman in town!! Jason and I didn't bother getting dressed up. Jason's parents came into town so we went to dinner then stopped by Trey's and my parent's, it was late and someone was a little fussy.

Dinner at Roadhouse and he got his picture with all the hostesses
Picture with Nana & Poppy before they left
One quick family photo :)
Picture with his Uncle Trey, they're going to have matching eyes I tell you!
He even got to play with his "cousin" Max
Max was getting a little jealous but eventually let Hudson pet him
Maybe I'm a little biased but he's the cutest Superman I've ever seen!
And I think he knows it! :)
Picture with Grandma & Grandpa
And finally back home and getting ready for bed

We had so much fun, I can't wait until he's a little older to take him around trick-or-treating!!!

Yay we are 4 months old!!

My oh my, where has the time gone!!! My lil' man is already 4 months old!!!

Well sweet boy, you have had quite an entertaining month! First off, you have grown...a good 15 pounds 14 ounces and measuring at 25 inches long! You certainly don't miss a meal but Dr. Ransom says you are growing just perfectly as you should be! We are currently trying to move your bed time up about an hour and it works for the most part...you still sleep all the way through the night, and that makes a very happy mommy and daddy!! You are still strictly on breastmilk, taking a bottle at least twice a day, but we have moved you up to 6 ounces now and you sure do enjoy it!! You are my lil' chunky monkey and I love EVERY inch of you! You are in size 2 diapers, however, I don't anticipate it will be for long, you are a growing boy!! You wear anything from 3 months to 9 months clothes and everything in between! It's so fun to move up in sizes and start wearing all the outfits that everyone got for you. We (mommy) is trying to break you of your habit of having to be swaddled to sleep/nap. Everyone says to just do it until you break yourself of the habit but I'd like to get a little bit of a head start on it so we're taking baby steps and starting out each night and seeing how long we go before we "need" it. Your little bald spot has grown a little, and is beginning to spread around the side of your head, so I'm hoping that by now swaddling you that it will help since you will hopefully be moving around more!! You are still just as happy as can be, I absolutely LOVE each morning getting you up and ready for the day. You certainly have the "mmmmMA" sound down and I'm loving it! It's the sweetest sound that I can hear! You have begun to "fake cough" just for attention, grandma likes to play a little game with you to get you to cough for her, it's quite funny! You have discovered your FEET and are thoroughly enjoying them! We can't keep them out of your mouth but I do love to watch you. You still play on your playmat we got you, and now you have a bouncer that you like. We can put you in it and turn on some cartoons and you will entertain yourself for an hour or so. You still take good naps in your swing, and at grandma's you take naps in your crib. I think one of daddy's favorite times, and yours too, is when daddy cuddles up with you on the couch for a good "daddy nap" on the days he keeps you. I have gotten to see this a time or two, it's the sweetest thing to watch. You have a Baby Einstein movie and you enjoy to watch it over and over again. You can roll over from your belly to your back, you did it for mommy and daddy at 2 weeks old, and then not long ago you did it for grandma, you are almost there on back to belly. You teeter-totter while holding your feet, almost there. If you can just learn to tuck that shoulder then we are in trouble!! You got baptized at church at the beginning of the month, everyone came into town to watch and we even went for a fun evening downtown with you, you slept most of the time! Mommy and daddy went out for the first time to a concert one weekend, it was lots of fun but mommy wasn't quite ready to leave you alone at night just yet. We are gearing up and getting ready for your first Halloween, you are going to be Superman!!!

Mommy and daddy enjoy each and every day with you, we are getting more and more comfortable as each day passes, learning new things though each day. Mommy has learned that no matter what, her hands aren't big enough to catch everything; i.e. poop & spit up ;) Your smile is infectious, your laugh melts mommy's heart. You are daddy's pride and joy, I know he enjoys the days he gets you all to himself. You have brought so much joy and pleasure to our lives, to everyone's lives. Mommy and daddy, grandma & "grumpy", uncle Trey, nana & poppy, aunt Jaclyn & uncle Skipper and your sweet cousins Brianna and Chloe. Each month has been so much more fun than the last, and each month you show us just how amazing you are! Daddy and I are so lucky to have such a precious lil' angel in our lives, you have completed our household in so many ways. We love you so much!

HAPPY 4 MONTHS my lil' chunky monkey!
