5 months old

My oh my, it's been another month! I just can't believe that time is passing by so quickly...he really is growing up so fast!!

YAY for another month! This month has been tough on us, you got bronchitis and your first ear infection all together here after Thanksgiving. So...you're growing, a whopping 17.5 lbs and still 25 inches long. We are wearing size 3 diapers...just started, and wearing anything from 3 months to 9 months clothing. You are growing just perfectly!!! You are still nursing and taking 2 bottles, 6 ounces each, a day; I think we get to start some solid foods next month so yay for that! You are still sleeping all through the night, although this pesky cough has made it tough here at the end. You no longer need to be swaddled to bed time or naps, we cover you a little but you tend to pull the covers over you head. You are officially a belly sleeper! You started rolling over earlier this month and now you roll all over the place. You prefer to sleep on your belly, it's a little tough to see but Mommy and daddy are so thankful for our video monitor because you move all over your crib. You have started scooting backwards in your crib, all the way to the end, and stick your legs through and then fall asleep there. You are so much fun, you are a very happy baby boy these days! You are starting to grab for toys more and more, grabbing and everyone's faces too. You learned how to "bounce" in a bouncer at your Nana and Poppy's house and now you won't stop, you even do it in your sleep! Grandma and Grandpa got a stroller for them and you love for Grandpa to take you for strolls, even though it is only through the house you still enjoy it! You are starting to drool A LOT and gnaw on just about anything you can get your hands on but we don't feel any teeth just yet. Your mouth and your toes are permanently attached these days! You just love to chew on your toes!!! We went for a quick visit to see your Nana and Poppy the weekend before Thanksgiving and got to visit with Granny, your great-grandmother. For your first Thanksgiving we went to Grandma and Grandpa's and had lunch. We were going to take you to your first Aggie Gameday tailgate but you weren't feeling well. The very next day we had to go to the doctor and began breathing treatments for bronchitis. We spent the weekend all bundled up while daddy worked! You don't like your car seat too much, it's very difficult to go out to eat now because you don't like to sit in it for long, but you haven't quite mastered sitting up on your own just yet so we can't put you in a high chair. Soon though...very soon. Your hair...oh your hair, it's getting soooooo long on one side and thinning out on the other. It's actually pretty cute. You can entertain yourself for hours in your Baby Einstein Entertainer...oh how you love to spin yourself around and play in it. You still will play on your playmat that we got you, but you roll so much that you don't stay on it for long before we find you somewhere else in the living room. You have been a little finicky these days about naps, you're not wanting to take your long naps anymore, you just like to take 30 minute naps here or there - sometimes. Most days you just go and go and go and then crash at the end of the day.

Oh my sweet baby boy, each and every month you give me more joy than the last. This year I was especially thankful for what all you have brought to our lives and we can't wait to have our first Christmas together.

Happy 5 months Chunky Monkey!
