Oh Chilifest, I think I might be too old for you!!!

We tried to get the entire Friday Lunch Club there but we had a few representing

I think I might be getting a little too old to go out and party like this but that sure didn't stop us from going out. Maybe the fact that someone called us up at the last minute and gave us some VIP tickets might have persuaded us that last little bit but oh well, we still made the trip to the BIG town of Snook, Texas for the annual event. We started the morning off by going to the dedication ceremony of the Brian Bachmann Community Park, a moving ceremony to attend. Jason and grabbed some lunch...so we didn't have to pay the outrageous prices out at Chilifest...then made our way to the shuttle pick-up. Now, we had just ate lunch, so I went to the bathroom about 10 times before the boarded the bus but that still didn't matter, we were almost to Snook when the urge hit AGAIN. Anyone who knows me knows that when I have to go, I have to go! Jason tried his hardest to keep my mind off of it, he tried asking the bus driver to drop us off at one of the deputy check points (where they had a port-o-can) but the driver refused to drop, the girls sitting next to us were so sweet trying to assure me that it wasn't much farther and then we finally made the turn and they let us get off the bus first...maybe they were secretly laughing at me but I don't care, at that moment in time they were the sweetest girls ever.

So we started the day off right with a cold one and some Mark Chesnutt, he was really nice, chatting it up with us since he's another East Texas boy

Are we really that surprised at this picture?!

Waited in line for this one...

LOVE this man so much!!

OMG...OMG...OMG...I was in heaven, I think Jason thought I was going to jump on his bus with him. This is, by far, one of the nicest...most humble men ever!

Waited in line earlier only to have him walking around in the VIP area and we got all the pictures we wanted

Ran into some sweet friends

Awesome group of people!

Overall it was a pretty awesome day, we may or may not have felt really "old" from it all the next morning but it was a lot of fun. We tried to get a picture with Josh Turner but he didn't do autographs or anything, he performed and then got back on his tour bus and left :( The bus ride back was pretty fun too...maybe we weren't "drunk enough" but all the others sure seemed to be having a great time and it gave us a few good laughs along the way.

Yes I'm that good of a shot...

Hubby took me shooting for his birthday after he had a nice relaxing game of golf

I'd say we were doing pretty good...he asked me to shoot out the center orange target

He took some shots too

Then of course let me shoot some more

And then I finally finished it off...yea I'm that great of a shot!!

So I bought the hubby a cookie cake for his team since he had to work that night for his birthday

Easter

We took Hudson the the Easter Egg Hunt at the George Bush Library...lots and lots of fun!! It was a little chilly that morning, hence why he is in jeans and sandals!! I ran a 5K that morning so please excuse my horrible appearance and attire...eeek!

He was thoroughly excited about it...can't you tell...

So even though it was that "town down south's," he still had fun playing in the police cars

He could totally be their ad baby! Who wouldn't want to listen to Candy 95 after seeing this cutie?!?!

He wasn't quite sure about what to do...

So mommy made a fool of herself out there :)

Then he finally got the hang of it all

Proud of his loot

Not really a fan of the Easter Bunny though...this was the best we could do

And then our annual bluebonnet photos!!

Just love this lil' munchkin so much!

This bigger munchkin too!!

A sweet jogger came over and offered to take our picture as a family...I obviously wasn't dressed for the occasion but oh well!

YAY we are done right?!

Loving on his daddy

And finally hunting and grandma and grandpa's

Conned his Uncle Trey into helping him out some

"Yea I got this!"

Happy Easter everyone!!

Rodeo time

The most exciting and dreaded time of the year has come and gone!!! We didn't go to nearly as many shows as we have in the past but had just as much fun and made some money back selling the tickets this year!!

We can't not go on opening night!!!

Stuck in lovely Houston traffic...grrrrrr!

In the middle of all of this we had a Honoring our Heroes event in town, hosted by the Lions Clubs and the 100 Club. They had the Gatlin Brothers perform at the event. Jason is part of one of the local Lions Clubs and then obviously we are members of the 100 Club. That is an amazing organization that literally swoops in and helps the families and loved ones of a first responder killed in the line of duty. Our community has benefited quite a bit from this organization over the past 6 months.

My real life hero

Us and the Gatlin Brothers

We may or may not have snuck into a firehouse later that evening...hey we were "delivering food" to them :)

They were there...I had to!

We came up with the brilliant idea to take Hudson to the rodeo this year as well, it was fun and I know he enjoyed himself but a troublesome toddler around thousands of drunks...ugh...

Trying on some cowboy boots!

Apparently Jason and I were talking to much on the ride up there...

Trying to catch a lil' nap before the excitement

Tell me that isn't the cutest lil' cowboy butt you ever saw?!?!

So much fun in the petting zoo

"Mom, dad, why won't it move?!"

Sweet hugs

"Hmmmm...this looks interesting..."

"Just let me get in there with them!"

Got our picture with some real cowboys!!

Such nice gentlemen

Hudson was such a trooper too!

Of course had to get a photo with the Astrodome!!!

And finally time for the rodeo. He was somewhat interested but you could tell he had other things on his mind...

He managed to sit still long enough for us to get through the rodeo and a little bit of the concert

Even smiled and flirted a little with some ladies...

Fun, fun family day at the RodeoHouston

And then this one was all tuckered out and slept on the way home...

Maybe next year might be a little different, but I'm thinking this kiddo needs to be about 4 before we venture out with him again to this...RodeoHouston was great this year, The King, George Strait ended the shows this year with his farewell tour and it was so worth it! I'm pretty sure Jason did not want to be there and knew we could have sold out tickets for a pretty penny but you can't not go to this last show!!!!
